Welcome Back!

We are so excited to welcome our new and returning dance families back to Stage West for the 2022-2023 season!


Before you get here, we want to make sure you have everything you need for a successful and enjoyable year. Keep reading to learn what you need for class, important payment dates, and a deal you won't want to miss at The Tight Spot.


Expectations

  • Students should arrive 15 minutes before class begins and should have everything they need. They should be dressed with their hair up, shoes on, and items neatly placed in the lobby.

  • Parents are not to remain in the lobby while their student is in class. A teacher or senior student will walk students to the first floor at the end of class.

  • No food or drink is permitted in the lobby. Water and anything needed for medical reasons are permitted. Absolutely no peanut products, please.

  • Gum is not permitted in any part of the studio.

  • No phones or apple watches are permitted during class. These items must be put away in their bags.

  • If a dancer is sick, they should stay home until they feel better.

  • Any absences should be reported to Heather as soon as possible.


What You'll Need:

3 and 4 Year Old Classes

  • Pink ballet slippers (no ties, leather)

  • Black, Mary Jane tap shoes

  • Any color leotard

  • Pink, tan, or black tights

  • No jewelry

  • Hair should be pulled back and out of the dancer's face

  • Dancers are welcome to bring water and keep it in their dance bag

Level 1 and 2

  • Pink ballet shoes (leather or canvas)

  • Black, Mary Jane tap shoes

  • Black jazz shoes

  • Any color leotard

  • Pink, tan, or black tights

  • No jewelry

  • Hair should be pulled back and out of the dancer's face

  • Dancers are welcome to bring water and keep it in their dance bag

Level 3 to 10

  • Pink, split-sole ballet shoes (leather or canvas)

  • Black, laced/tie tap shoes

  • Black jazz shoes

  • Turners (half-sole canvas shoes)

  • Any color leotard

  • Pink, tan, or black tights

  • No jewelry

  • Dancers of this level can wear spandex tops and bottoms but must be age appropriate. If clothing becomes a distraction, the dancer will be asked to come to class in a leotard and tights

  • Hair should be pulled back and out of the dancer's face

  • Dancers are encouraged to bring water and keep it in their dance bag

  • Phones and apple watches are not permitted in the dance studio and must be kept in the dancer's dance bag

Level 5 to 10 dancers are also expected to bring the following to class:

  • Yoga block

  • Stretch/fitness bands

Hip-Hop and Gymnastics

  • For hip-hop, students should bring clean, white-bottomed sneakers

  • For gymnastics, students should wear tight fitting clothes, bare feet, and have hair tightly pulled back out of their face.

  • No jewelry


Important Dates

September 12: Classes begin!

September 24: Competition team costume deposit #1 due ($100)

October 29: Competition team costume deposit #2 due ($100)

November 19: Recital costume deposit #1 due ($50)

November 22-28: No Classes - Thanksgiving Break

December 22-January 7: No Classes - Winter Break

January 14: Recital costume deposit #2 due (remaining balance)

April 4-10: No Classes - Spring Break

June 1: Last Day of Classes


The Spring Recital Date is TBD. There will be a dress rehearsal the night before.


Monthly tuition payments are due on the first of each month. You can pay on Jackrabbit, Venmo, or Cash. Any payments not received by the 15th of the month will incur a late fee.
